Table Rock North division of USA Bassin National Fishing Trail

Table Rock North division of USA Bassin National Fishing Trail

The Table Rock North division of USA Bassin tournament on March 31st, 2018 was a
great day!

Be sure and check out the middle of the video as we basically tell you where and with what we caught the majority of our double digit bag!

See the ‘short interview’ with me playing MC, while
questioning Westin about our pattern and successful strategy leading to our 3rd place finish that day!

Here’s a video, with a detailed explanation how we caught of limit of ‘fat’ Table Rock bass!

My son Westin Yancey and I fished the second of five Table Rock North division series of USA Bassin Saturday at Aunts Creek ramp!

When we arrived at shortly after 6:00 AM, we were surprised to see 20-30 boats already lining up for another tournament at Aunt’s Creek ramp. With forecast calling for a low 60’s day, we took off
promptly at 7:00 AM.

It had been years or even a decade or longer since I’d fished out of Aunts Creek on Table Rock lake, but I had good bass club memories of many limits brought to the scale while fishing with the ‘Finley River’ bass club back in the ’90s!

My son and I decided due to the recent warming rains, that we’d concentrate early on the warming tho muddy water in the backs of creeks. After about an hour and a half with no bites to speak of, we headed out for deeper water.

Be sure and check out the middle of the video as we basically tell you where and with what we caught the majority of our double digit bag! See the ‘short interview’ with me playing MC, while
questioning Westin about our pattern and successful strategy leading to our 3rd place finish that day!

Congratulations to the Top 4 winning bags, 3 weighed double digit bags (Cole Findley/Matt Cesar; Westin and Randy Yancey; Mike Gold/LG Linville), and the 4th place team of Tony Rains/Adam Issacs, big bass winner (3.08) and weighed a bag over 9+ pounds!

The next tournaments are April 14th at Cape Fair marina and April 15th back at Aunt’s Creek north ramp! For details and early take off numbers go to www.usabassin.com , Table Rock North division, MO-14! Underwater Sight Fishing – Which Lures Work Best?

Ever wondered why one lure works better than another? Let’s head underwater to see the differences between a variety of swimbaits. As we watch, Tim explains why each bait is effective and how to use it most effectively.

Ever wondered why so many youtubers throw small swimbaits for their underwater footage? This is why! Its very easy to get a bass interested in a swimbait. Bass are hardwired to defend their nests against predators.
Swimbaits are a perfect imitation of a variety of predators that bass face. However, a swimbait is rarely the best bait for CATCHING the bed fish. For this style of fishing they have an incredibly poor hookup to land ratio. You’re much better off using a small swimbait as a tool to aggravate the fish, then using a traditional bait to get the final bite.

The swimbaits…

You do not need a dedicated swimbait rod for this technique because you’re not actually trying to hook the fish on this setup. However, bait control is key so you do need a very stout “flipping” style rod to control the bait on short casts. Any flipping rod will work but here is our setup…

With Grog’s mind now silenced, the twins fall upon the last surviving Duergar. Vex’ahlia presses their dwarven captive for information. The Duergar only laughs at the barbarian’s plight, and spits out warnings of the “master” that awaits them below, before Vax’ildan finally puts her out of her misery. After an uneasy night’s rest for the party and hours of meditation for Keylith, the druid is thankfully able to restore Grog’s mind, and the Vox Machina continue down through the great cavern. They pass through a gutted goblin village strewn with corpses, and eventually spy another group of Duergar, dragging along 3 dwarven captives. Scanlan and the twins whip out their flying carpet and tail the Duergar from afar, over a thin, creeking rope bridge. Scanlon disappears from sight, and now invisible, carefully makes his way into a war camp teeming with dark dwarves, ogres, and trolls. There he bears witness to an Illithid controlling all those around him, devouring the mind of one of the three dwarven miners.

After catching his companions up, the group hatches a plan to lure their enemies into an illusion and drop them to their doom, into the cavern below the bridge. It is partially successful, but then, while acting as living bait, Vax’s mind is stunned by the Illithid and he is almost dropped to his death before Tiberius swoops in to save him.

With the plan now in disarray, Vex and Keylith decide to delve into the chasm below the bridge, in spite of their companions’ protests. Their instincts serve them well though, and hidden behind a subterranean waterfall they find a cave. Within it awaits a powerful and unlikely ally.

Drop Shot Largemouth Bass Hagg Lake Oregon

Fishing on Hagg Lake in Oregon can be tough if you don’t know where the bass are and what they do. This day started at 11 AM and we couldn’t sniff a bite until 6PM when I decided to pull out the Drop Shot and Wacky Rig a nightcrawler colored worm on a 1/0 hook.
