When the conditions are right, there’s a magic time when anglers can catch a 30lb. limit of 5 bass in 5 minutes. That magic window is the shad spawn/herring spawn, and it’s an all-you-can-eat buffet for bass while the baitfish are all balled together with other things on their mind. Bass will ambush their unsuspecting prey, and this is a great time for you to know Bassmaster Elite Series angler Ott Defoe’s tips, baits, tactics and tournament-proven techniques to catch big bass fast!
This is a preview clip of a full 57-minute bass fishing instructional video available at In the full seminar, you will learn about when and where bait fish spawn (bluegill, shad, herring and fat head minnows), and Ott will teach you how to catch bass feeding on these baitfish.

To start the year off we went to one of my favorite places to fish, Table Rock lake. We used jigging spoons and blade baits to catch all three species of bass, and we did it out of kayaks! It was a new experience fishing so far from the bank with the kayaks, but what a fun challenge. To top it off, we mixed in some family vacation time and got to enjoy Big Cedar Lodge. One of my favorite trips up there to date!

Matt Allen teaches you step-by-step how to catch the biggest fish in the lake. From swimbaits, to jigs, to reaction baits, he teaches you the techniques and tricks you’ll need to fool the biggest bass in your lake.
Its not complicated and anyone can do it, once you understand how to “trigger” a feeding response from bass instead of waiting for them to bite. From A-rigs to jerkbaits, jigs, and of course giant swimbaits, you’ll learn exactly what it takes to consistently catch big bass.
This Seminar was filmed live on the demo tank at the International Sportsman’s Exposition in Sacramento, California on January 19th, 2018. This year the tank was extremely crowded (Thank you to each and every one of you that joined us in person for this seminar! We couldn’t do this without you and we’re so grateful you took time out of your day to come see us!) Because of the crowded conditions we were not able to get camera angles on the tank to show the fish’s reactions to the bait. We apologize for the single camera angle but we hope you enjoy the information!
