Fishing for Bass and Sunfish in Clear Texas Creeks with Crawfish

I’m fishing in some clear water creeks and streams in central Texas around the Austin area for a variety on sunfish species and sharing some tips and techniques for bank fishing and wade fishing. I used a crawfish plastic worm on a small 1/8 oz wacky football jig head for most of the trip. These small creek fish love to eat crawfish and it was the perfect size bait for these fish. I caught Largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, Green Ear Sunfish, Warmouth, Bluegill, and Texas Cichlids. Fishing in these creeks can be tough because of the ultra clear water, so I went down to 8lb test fluorocarbon fishing line and light action spinning rods and reels. I also had to keep a low profile while bank fishing and be stealthy when wade fishing because of the clear water. Creek fishing can be a fun adventure, and it’s the perfect way to fish on a hot early fall day in Texas. For the underwater shots, I rigged my gopro hero 4 with the underwater housing and used a pole to film the fish.

  11. That's the way I like to fish dude. Creek fish are a while new level of aggressive. They are best in the heat of the summer when food is scarce.

  12. I live in Ft. Hood and it may be impossible but I would love to go fishing with you at Belton Lake or somewhere like that, I am still learning freshwater fishing I'm new to it I've done saltwater my whole life. hope you see this

  13. I love Creek Fishing fun of Florida you're limited and you have to deal with cottonmouth and Gators so watch your step.

  14. Should of showed the warmouth a little more there cool ass sunfish

  15. Check my IG out @fishingvibes 🤘🏻🤷🏼‍♂️ fish on fishing freaks

  16. couldnt help but look at the size of those sunfish and think, mmmmmmm fish fry. those greenies are good eating and good amount of meat for a panfish

  17. Whenever I fish creeks, I use a ned rig. Before Z Man took over in that stuff, I use to use a piece of a YUM Dinger or Big Bite Baits stick bait and put it on a round shaky head. Works all the time for me up here in NY. We have A LOT of rock bass.
