Where Do Bass Go In Early Spring?

Have your bass vanished? Have your favorite Winter spots gone cold? Here’s why! The bass are on the move and they aren’t wasting any time doing it! Every year the bass start their Spring migration in late Winter and for those anglers that haven’t learned to follow them, it can be a very frustrating time.

The key to predicting the bass’ movement is to understand why they are moving in the first place. The ultimate goal of their movements is to spawn as soon as water and environmental conditions allow. The key is locating the key stops along their journey.

If you’re trying to locate fish, electronics can make all the difference. Here is what we are using… Humminbird Solix 15:

  1. Helps a ton. I’m one of those southern anglers dealing with tons of rain. I’ll be checking the back of creeks today for sure.

  2. Thank you for filling my brain with pure gold.you guys are awesome. Great videos Every video is so helpful and so appreciated. Thanks again for your guys time

  3. This is the best and clearest explanation I've ever heard on this topic. GOLD!!! TY!

  4. Ive asked this question before have you guys tried the magic swimmer the 9 inch 228 we youse at the cape cod canal and we slow roll for bass and have been catching them it might be a decent budget swimbait to talk about if you want cause the 9 inch is 20 bucks but def upgrade the hardware

  5. If its been nice and fish moved up will they push back if you get a snow storm and lot of rain

  6. What about a small pond? Will it differ? I fish a small pond by my house on a nature reserve but you can walk around the whole thing in about 5 minutes. Its got a lot of cover but gets deep pretty quick. What to throw and where?

  7. Hey Matt have you heard of the jackall megalo dooon dw 2oz gigantic spinnerbaits they are awesome a bit pricey but God looks and fishabilaed is great I don't have fish as big as you up there but some how I am still catching bass this spinnerbait is huge and if you haven't used they yet I think you will love it to slow roll it deep or use a super high speed reel and use it shollow that's what I've been doing on my 9 3 to 1 reel and it will cast 1 mile and some please let me know if you have and what you think or if you have not thanks keep up the great work Charles

  8. It's such BS TacticalBassin doesn't have a million plus subs! These guys give out their knowledge, baits they use, and even tell you lakes they are fishing! Most youtubers wont tell you anything like that. Come on guys! If you are watching and not subscribed hit that button!!

  9. Thank you so much Matt!!! This helps a lot. California is gonna get a lot of rain and snow on this storm coming in and the water levels are gonna rise. Hopefully they keep the water this year and don’t let it all out like last year.

  10. I thought of a video series that might be pretty interesting. Could you cover how you would specifically target popular lakes if you were gonna be fishing them maybe showing some points and stuff on the maps of specific lakes throughout the country what you would be throwing etc. I fish lake hartwell in South Carolina I know you’re west coast but I’m curious how you would approach it.

  11. Just responded and recommended that area to one of your commenters, FilipinoBMW, from Tim's video on Friday! How did you do while you were out there? Were you in one of the tournaments or was that a client with you?

  12. I got my s waver 168! Great bait! Thank you guys so much! I fished a drop shot yesterday and the bass were exactly where you said they’d be.

  13. I think I've learned most of what I know from Matt and Tim. There's a lot of people on YouTube fishing for bass and giving input on lures and technique but by far, tactical bassin is tried and true, the best info on YouTube. Real Cool Dudes, the amount of information Matt knows about bass fishing blows my mind. He's an Encyclopedia.

  14. Thanks for the advice, i know I am in Ohio but I appreciate what you teach because it is so applicable.
