Why Bass Fishing Crankbait Color is Important

You wouldn’t cast a bluegill-colored crankbait if bass are busting shad. The same mindset applies to crawfish, which come in all sizes and colors. You need to be able to swap out lures and match their color pattern at any place or time. Fortunately for the angler, smart tackle manufacturers like Storm and their Wiggle Wart lineup ( produce crankbaits that match different species of crawfish throughout their life cycles. Elite Series pro Brandon Palaniuk underscores the importance of paying attention to the environment and making subtle crankbait color changes when bass are chewing on crawfish (hint: almost always).

  1. +Wired2Fish – these are the videos that keep people coming back for more. Knowledge is key and a lot of casual anglers dont understand the life cycle of the craw. Rivers, lakes, SMB, LMB, you name it- Crawfish are important.

  2. Now that was helpful. I knew crawfish changed colors, but not that many. Great look colors of crankbaits. Thanks. Great information. Ronnie, Texas.
