A Day in the Life of a Tournament Bass Fisherman!
Pomme De Terre Lake, Southwest Missouri, October 13th,2018.

(Be sure and watch the intro and outro to see who won the $100000 check for the biggest bass at the AIA- Big Bass Bash on October 6-7th, 2018 at Lake of the Ozarks. Hint; My son Westin Yancey and he are good friends and Wes actually netted the fish for him!)

Here’s what a $100,000 bass looks like!

By: Randy Yancey-Tournament Bass Angler

It was the first day of the Tri County Bass Club’s championship at Nemo ramp on Pomme de Terre.
It started out cool and cloudy with a slight wind out of the southwest! The fish bit pretty good at first, but as the winds shifted more easterly and eventually north easterly, the bite slowed down after about 10.

Luckily, after spending 30 minutes right north of the bridge throwing a white buzz bait with ‘no’ success, I decided that the fish might be pulled back into the west facing coves and cuts and decided to check it out!

As I’d caught one short fish coming out of marina cove, I put the Maxum on high and sped towards the next cove. I caught my first keeper, a barely 13″ spotted bass on a rocky bank just out side the entrance to a small narrow cove, somewhat protected from the ssw wind. I had picked up my @13fishing Concept Z matched with my Undercover Sportsman custom made Denali 7′ M. Heavy fast tipped rod, and hit the edge of the rocks, fishing parallel to the bank.

Just before reaching the mouth of the cove, I made a long cast and was rewarded with that great feeling, that ‘tug’ back on my rod tip! A few seconds later I reeled in keeper number 1! It was 7:53 am on my phone.

I proceeded into the cove and a few minutes later a little largemouth hit the Rapala DT6, in Mule color that I’d caught the first keeper on moments before. It was not quite 8 o’clock!

Grabbed my white Origin C 13fishing reel, which had another DT6 crank on it only this one was Chart/Lime Green backed, and started fishing the fronts of the little docks coming up on my right.

After first fishing the fronts, I pulled out a little deeper and began to fish the edges and centers between each dock. On the second dock after casting either side, I threw almost directly in the middle, close to the bank and ‘wham’, Keeper number 2, a nice 15″ largemouth was in the boat!

I fished down the docks, and picked up another short 10″ fish a couple docks later. As I was coming to the last 2-3 docks on that side, I reached for the other DT6 crankbait and threw once again between the last 2 docks, once again sides then center, and a nice 15″+ largemouth bass nailed it, again!

Keeper number 3 in the boat and it was about 9 am!

They say 1 fish is a maybe luck but 2 fish ‘is a pattern’!

Have you figured out that pattern yet?

Watch the video for the rest of the story, and to the person whom subscribes and comments as to what that mornings pattern was, and gets the closest to what pattern I’d found to catch 8 or 10 fish and 4 keepers by 930, all out of that little cove, I‘ll send them a @megachomplures , inline bass catching spinner! I choose the winner and they must have subscribed and posted the best guess as to what the patter was!! Must be a subscriber and I’ll pay postage (USPS) to any ‘US’ address. If you’re from Canada, sorry, if you win, you’ll have to pay a postal surcharge 0f $9.00 usd!

So, watch the video, like, share and subscribe, then post your comment as to exactly what you think the pattern was!!

Good Luck and thanks for viewing!
