Smallmouth BASS Fishing with Tubes (surprise catch!)

Dad and I went to Lake Erie to do some smallmouth bass fishing with tubes. This was our second time fishing Lake Erie. We used tubes the entire time we fished. We caught 4 species of fish on the tubes. The technique we used was very simple. Drag the tubes on the bottom of the lake, while giving them some action by “popping” the rod tip. Popping the rod tip makes the tubes “hop” off the bottom. This gives the tubes some action which triggers bites. Keeping bottom contact is crucial when fishing a tube for smallmouth bass. Lake Erie is well known for it’s big smallmouth bass. If you want to catch some big smallmouth bass give Lake Erie a try.
