World Record Smallmouth Bass IGFA Pending

Aim High DREAM Big! This IS Big Bass Dreams afterall. The world record for any species is coveted, but especially so for the 3 main black bass species! Our goal is always to try and fool the smartest, biggest fish with the ALL TACKLE Records as the benchmark. However the International Game Fish Association also has a special program aimed at promoting the catch and release of our prized game fish such as the smallmouth.

This category for world records isn’t as widely known or talked about. Here the length of the fish, which is much more easily measured without having as much potential of harming them is how this class of fishing world record is documented. This allows for a quick measure and subsequent release.

Although the release/length records aren’t as impactful as the ALL Tackle record for smallmouth bass, it’s still a fun and meaningful way to measure our pursuit of giant bass!

Congratulations to our friend Matt Tueten on his record fish we are submitting for consideration. The current length record is 53cm (20.86 Inches) and this new world record application is at 54cm (21.25 Inches). However, IGFA rules state that a new record must eclipse the previous by at least 2 centimeters, so we may have a tie. Only the IGFA and time will tell.

The Megabass Okashira Screw Head and Spark Shad combo has been one of our top producing finesse lures for the past 2 seasons, especially with big smallmouth. It’s an amazing combo when conditions dictate a finesse presentation when we target these trophy fish.

Take an in depth look at real live footage as always shot on PUBLIC water.
